Vietnam showcases UAVs and radars at SAHA 2026 defense exhibition

Vietnam has showcased UAVs, radars and other defense technologies at SAHA 2026 in Istanbul. The display marks another step in Vietnam’s push to expand international defense industry cooperation and present domestic high-tech capabilities to a global market.

A high-level delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense attended the exhibition at the invitation of Turkey’s Ministry of National Defense. The delegation was led by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defense, with Vietnam’s ambassador to Turkey, Dang Thi Thu Ha, joining delegation activities at the event.

SAHA has been held every two years since 2018 and is one of the major international exhibitions for defense, aerospace and space technology. The 2026 event brings together more than 1,700 companies from 120 countries, including large defense groups, government and military organizations, security agencies and research and development centers; it also introduces more than 300 new defense technology products and solutions, with live demonstrations across multiple fields.

Vietnam used the event to present its defense industry and exchange experience ahead of the third Vietnam International Defense Exhibition, scheduled for December 2026. The delegation also visited booths operated by leading global defense companies to review new developments in defense technology, aerospace, modern weapons systems, equipment and dual-use solutions, while promoting cooperation in research, development and technology transfer.

Viettel High Tech, part of Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, displayed 73 high-tech products across eight core fields: radar, electronic warfare, UAVs, optoelectronics, military communications, command-and-control systems, simulation models and private 5G networks. The presence in Turkey is strategically significant because the country has demanding defense industry standards and a fast-developing ecosystem, making acceptance of Vietnamese radar, telecommunications and electronic warfare technologies an important signal for their international quality and future cooperation prospects.
