Quantum Systems raises €180 million to scale multi-domain UAV business

Quantum Systems has raised an additional €180 million, lifting its 2025 funding total to €340 million and pushing its valuation above €3 billion. The extension of its Series C round marks the largest private capital raise in Europe’s dual-use sector and sharpens the company’s position as one of the region’s biggest drone and autonomous systems developers.

The German company said the new money will fund expansion across air, land and maritime unmanned operations linked through its MOSAIC UXS mission software platform. It plans to speed development of artificial intelligence, software and hardware, while also pursuing acquisitions to widen its product base. Quantum Systems has already bought AirRobot, Nordic Unmanned and Spleenlab this year, folding their technologies into its portfolio as it broadens from UAVs toward multi-domain autonomous systems.

The fundraising lands as the United States and Europe race to build defense-capable drone fleets that can be produced at scale and used in contested environments. Wars in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, along with broader geopolitical tension, have pushed governments to spend more on autonomous platforms for surveillance, mission support and operational resilience. Western defense agencies are increasingly looking for trusted domestic or allied suppliers that can combine software, AI and hardware in systems suited to both military and civilian tasks, giving dual-use manufacturers a stronger strategic role.

Quantum Systems’ platforms are already deployed with NATO partners across Europe and with users in the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Ukraine. The company said its systems have supported Ukrainian forces since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022, making it one of Europe’s most visible drone suppliers operating in active conflict conditions. It now employs about 1,000 people across Germany, Ukraine, the United States, Australia, Romania, the United Kingdom and the Baltic states, reflecting a broader international footprint as demand rises.

The latest funding underlines how fast Europe’s defense technology market is consolidating around companies able to scale autonomous systems quickly and across domains. For Quantum Systems, the cash gives it more room to expand globally and deepen its role with European, NATO and allied customers. For the wider market, the deal signals that sovereign drone capability is becoming a core security priority, not a niche investment theme.
